Astra International profit misses consensus by 28.4% in Q3

PT Astra International Tbk said its normalized net income for the third quarter amounted to 90.70 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 126.66 rupiah per share.

EPS climbed 28.0% year over year from 70.85 rupiah.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.672 trillion rupiah, a gain of 28.0% from 2.868 trillion rupiah in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.0% from 6.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 18.4% on an annual basis to 52.194 trillion rupiah from 44.086 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses rose 17.0% year over year to 46.313 trillion rupiah from 39.600 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income grew 16.4% year over year to 4.832 trillion rupiah, or 119.23 rupiah per share, from 4.152 trillion rupiah, or 102.55 rupiah per share.

As of Oct. 31, US$1 was equivalent to 13,556 rupiah.
