Kiska MetalsCorp. has mobilized an exploration team and drill rig to theCopper Joecopper-gold-molybdenum project in Alaska to initiate a diamond drillingprogram, the company said July 18.
The project is under option to Kiska isacting as the project operator and retains a 20% carried interest when adecision to mine is made.
The 800-meter diamond drill program will test the EveningStar porphyry target at the project.
The Evening Star prospect is defined by a 2.5kilometer-diameter area of intense phyllic alteration with an outer margin ofsignificant D-style quartz-pyrite veining and a 1 kilometer-wide inner zone ofsignificant banded quartz-molybdenite veining.
The newly appreciated Morning Star prospect occurs 2.2kilometers to the southwest of the Evening Star prospect in a relativelylow-lying area mostly covered by glacial till. Morning Star has yet to betested by geophysical surveys or drilling, and will be further investigatedthis year.
