OTP Bank eyes further acquisition in Serbia

OTP Bank Nyrt. CEO Sándor Csányi said the bank would buy another lender in Serbia if there were an appropriate opportunity to do so, Reuters reported.

The Hungarian bank is looking at Komercijalna Banka a.d. Beograd, in which the government holds a 41.7% stake that it is slated to sell in 2018, although Csányi said "that is not the only bank we are looking into in the region." OTP has operated in Serbia since 2005 and earlier in 2017 acquired Vojvodanska banka a.d. Novi Sad from National Bank of Greece SA, Reuters noted.
