Coen brothers' Western anthology coming to Netflix

Netflix Inc. struck a deal with Joel and Ethan Coen for a Western anthology series, "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs."

The anthology will have six installments, each chapter featuring a distinct story about the American West. It will star Tim Blake Nelson as Buster. In addition to writing and directing, the Coen brothers will also executive produce the project, along with Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle from Annapurna Television, and Robert Graf.

Annapurna Television is producing "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs," which will debut on Netflix in 2018, according to an Aug. 9 news release.
