Sharp Corp. is developing a new business that will help startups engaged in making sensors and other devices related to the internet of things find manufacturers willing to lend underutilized equipment, the Nikkei Asian Review reported Aug. 9.

The matchmaking initiative will help the startups have a steady supply of orders and improve their operating rates, the Nikkei wrote. The Japanese consumer electronics maker will also help the startups find factories suited to mass production.
