EU-harmonized monthly inflation in France edged down 0.1% in July after stabilizing in June, while annual inflation accelerated to 2.6% from 2.3% in the previous month, confirming the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies' provisional estimates.
France's nonharmonized monthly consumer price index decreased by 0.1% in July from the previous month on an unadjusted basis due to a seasonal fall in prices of manufactured products that was partly offset by a rebound in services prices.
On a year-over-year basis, nonharmonized consumer prices increased by 2.3% in July after rising by 2.0% in June because of an acceleration in energy prices and higher prices of services and tobacco. Year-over-year core inflation increased to 0.9% in July from 0.8% in June.
