Self-Help CU completes merger with Palmetto Trust FCU

Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Trust Federal Credit Union merged into Durham, N.C.-based Self-Help CU, effective Sept. 1, Janis Shields, media relations director at Self-Help CU, told S&P Global Market Intelligence in an email.

Members of Palmetto Trust FCU voted to approve the merger in August. Palmetto Trust FCU has two branches in Columbia, 2,200 members and more than $8 million in loans.

As of June 30, Self-Help CU had $957.7 million in assets, and Palmetto Trust FCU had $17.7 million in assets, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.
