Olympia Financial Group Inc.'s subsidiary Olympia Trust Co. is planning to launch a transfer agency and corporate trustee business on Dec. 14.

Olympia Financial previously operated a similar business through its corporate and shareholder services division, which it sold to Computershare Trust Co. Of Canada in 2013. As part of the transaction, Olympia Financial agreed to a noncompetition provision that prevented it from offering transfer agency and corporate trustee services until after Dec. 13.

Olympia Trust will spend the next six months establishing systems and training staff to prepare for the commencement of the business.
