Publicly traded U.S. equity REITs raised $50.79 billionthrough capital offerings year-to-date through Sept. 15, 14.2% higher than the $44.48billion raised over the same period in 2015.
During the two-week period between Sept. 1 and Sept. 15,REITs raised approximately $2.24 billion.
The specialty sector, which comprises data center, studenthousing and communications REITs, among others, saw the most capital raised sofar in 2016, at $14.94 billion. The retail and healthcare sectors followed with$8.83 billion and $7.86 billion raised, respectively.
