Shanta Gold names CFO as CEO as company focuses on cost control

Shanta Gold Ltd. said Aug. 2 that it named Eric Zurrin CEO, effective immediately, replacing Toby Bradbury, as the company shifts its focus on cost control and shareholder returns in light of the changes in Tanzania's operating environment in the wake of the country's concentrate export ban, which started in March.

Zurrin, an executive with 15 years of experience in the banking and mining sectors, initially served the company from 2013 to 2016 in various capacities, including as interim CFO from 2015 to 2016. He was rehired as CFO in March.

Bradbury will remain with the company as director until September to assist with the transition.
