FERC accepts Rockies Express rates for Rice Energy Marketing gas

FERC accepted tariff records filed by Rockies Express Pipeline LLC that included two new negotiated-rate gas transportation service agreements between Rockies Express and Rice Energy Marketing LLC.

In a Dec. 22 letter regarding the agreements, FERC told Tallgrass Energy Partners LP Vice President of Regulatory Affairs David Haag that the commission waived a notice requirement and accepted the tariff records. Rockies Express had requested the waiver of the commission's 30-day notice requirement to allow the tariff records to become effective Dec. 5.

Rockies Express is a joint venture 25% owned by Tallgrass Energy, 25% owned by Phillips 66 Co. and 50% owned by Tallgrass Development LP. (FERC docket RP17-247)

In October 2015, Rice Energy Inc. announced that it would form a joint venture with Gulfport Energy Corp. to gather gas in the Utica Shale. The partners said the gathering system would connect with Rockies Express, ET Rover Pipeline Company LLC, Texas Eastern Transmission LP and Dominion East Ohio.
