Ukraine's parliament ousted Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk after he engaged in a spat with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Reuters reported.
Groysman requested the parliament to dismiss the finance minister, who said June 6 that he had been asked to support "political corruption" or quit.
Danylyuk wrote a letter to the G7 group of nations, accusing Groysman of favoring candidates, after Groysman rejected Danylyuk's candidate for deputy minister in charge of tax policy. Danylyuk has also claimed that Groysman blocked his attempts to reform Ukraine's tax system.
Kiev is hoping to win another tranche of financial assistance under a stalled $17.5 billion program. Ukraine's parliament on June 7 approved the creation of a special anti-corruption court, a key condition for the International Monetary Fund to release more funding.
