Centene recommends vote against political spending disclosure proposal

At Centene Corp.'s April 23 annual meeting, shareholders will vote on a stockholder proposal regarding political spending disclosures.

Friends Fiduciary Corp., which owns no less than 1,280 Centene common shares, is asking the company to provide a report, disclosing its policies and procedures for making, with corporate funds or assets, contributions and expenditures to participate in any campaign, and for making monetary and nonmonetary contributions.

The board recommended voting against the proposal, arguing that the disclosure of such a report would add no benefit to stockholders.
