State Farm cuts auto rate in Kansas

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. said overall personal auto rate will decrease by 3.6% in Kansas.

The total statewide expected impact for State Farm by the rate cut in Kansas will be about $12 million. State Farm Senior Vice President Phillip Hawkins attributed the cut to the auto insurer's current financial strength.

The effective date for new and renewal business is Oct. 15.
