Insurance moves: UK-based Admiral names independent director

Property and casualty

New York-based AmTrust Title Insurance Co. added a Carolinas agency group, with Mark Hungate as regional sales representative and and Jesse Cavett as underwriting counsel, according to The Title Report.

Hungate, based in Kernersville, N.C., will focus on business development, customer service and operations. Based in Charleston, S.C., Cavett will provide guidance on legal and underwriting issues for attorneys and title agents in both Carolinas.

QBE North America appointed Toria Lessman senior vice president and head of transactional liability.

The company also named Stacey Meade senior vice president and head of financial institutions.

Lessman worked on new product development across QBE North America's transactional liability practice. Meade most recently served as vice president and underwriting leader for financial institutions.

QBE North America is a part of QBE Insurance Group Ltd.

The board of U.K.-based Admiral Group PLC announced the appointment of Mike Brierley as an independent nonexecutive director, effective Oct. 5.

Brierley also assumed the role of nonexecutive chairman at Admiral Financial Services Ltd., the company through which Admiral Group's loans business is written. Brierley most recently served as CFO of Metro Bank PLC.
