AEP gets FERC approval to combine Texas subsidiaries

FERC onSept. 22 approved the proposal of American Electric Power Co. Inc. to its and subsidiariesinto their immediate parent, AEP Utilities Inc.

Thecombined unit will be renamed AEP Texas Inc. after the merger, according to aJune 27 FERC application. The transaction is meant to align the legalstructure of AEP Texas with the company's current organizational andoperational form. (EC16-135)
