Brookfield Property leases space at One Liberty Plaza to 2 NYC agencies

Brookfield Property Partners LP signed up the New York City Economic Development Corp. for 222,137 square feet of space at the company's One Liberty Plaza tower in lower Manhattan, N.Y., Real Estate Weekly reported.

Under a 20-year lease, the not-for-profit corporation and New York City Department of Small Business Services will occupy the 10th through 14th floors of the 54-story, 2.3 million-square-foot building at 165 Broadway. The new lease increases the tower's occupancy rate to 95%.

A team at Newmark Knight Frank represented the not-for-profit group on the transaction, while Brookfield was represented by an in-house team and an agent at Newmark.
