Fresnillo Plc posted year-over-year increases in both silver and gold output in the third quarter, with production of 11.8 million ounces of silver, including the silverstream, and 220,000 ounces of gold.
Silver production increased 6.7% year over year mainly due to the start up of phase one of San Julian, increased ore processed at Saucito and an increased contribution from the silverstream.
Gold production jumped 20.9% on a yearly basis due to higher volumes processed and higher ore grades at both Herradura and Noche Buena.
Lead and zinc production in the three months increased 19% and 32.1%, respectively, to 12,473 tonnes and 14,476 tonnes, compared to the same year-ago period.
In the first nine months of the year, silver production, including the silverstream, increased 6.3% to 37.0 million ounces, and gold production rose to 667,000 ounces, up 22.3%, on a yearly basis
Fresnillo said it is on track to achieve its revised full-year gold guidance of 850,000 ounces to 870,000 ounces, and its silver guidance of 49 million ounces to 51 million ounces.
