Swedish commercial-vehicles maker Scania AB said July 5 that it has temporarily halted sales and deliveries of its V8 engines due to an ongoing strike at one of the company's engine component suppliers.
V8 truck engine orders for more than 2,000 customers are at a standstill due to a protest at its supplier of 20 years.
The Volkswagen AG-owned company said its sales team is now focusing on offering alternative 13-litre engines or other solutions for its customers.
The company did not disclose the name of its supplier, but said it will work to secure and optimize its supply chain in order to avoid further inconvenience to its customers.
