FERC approves Xcel Energy's acquisition of 103.5-MW wind farm in Minnesota

Northern States Power Co. - Minnesota received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on June 4 to acquire the 103.5-MW Lake Benton II wind facility in Minnesota from a NextEra Energy Resources LLC subsidiary.

The power plant started operating in 1999 in Pipestone County. It sells electricity to Northern States Power - Minnesota under a 30-year contract expiring in June 2029, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.

NextEra Energy Resources will not own any interests in the wind farm after the deal closes. (FERC docket EC19-72)
