Argentina's Banco Galicia sued over card fees

Argentine consumer association ADUC filed a new class-action lawsuit against Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires SA, claiming that the bank has unfairly increased credit and debit card fees for purchases abroad.

The consumer watchdog is also suing Prisma Medios de Pago SA, American Express Argentina, S.A. and Mastercard-operator First Data Cono Sur in the same case.

In a statement, the bank said it was analyzing the case and its potential implications.

ADUC has filed multiple suits against banks in Argentina this year related to alleged charges of unjust fees for varied products and services.
