Nihon Tokushu Toryo Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥39.37 per share, an increase of 54.8% from ¥25.43 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥870.5 million, an increase of 54.8% from ¥562.3 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 8.0% from 5.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to ¥10.88 billion from ¥10.74 billion, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to ¥10.16 billion from ¥10.27 billion.
Reported net income increased 29.0% on an annual basis to ¥858.0 million, or ¥38.80 per share, from ¥665.0 million, or ¥30.08 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥108.45 per share, a gain of 21.7% from ¥89.11 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥2.40 billion, an increase of 21.7% from ¥1.97 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue totaled ¥39.57 billion, compared with ¥39.39 billion in the prior year, and total operating expenses totaled ¥37.94 billion, compared with ¥38.09 billion in the year-earlier period.
The company said reported net income increased 11.7% on an annual basis to ¥3.03 billion, or ¥136.99 per share, in the full year, from ¥2.71 billion, or ¥122.65 per share.
