The CEO of a joint mobility venture between Daimler AG and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, has resigned, Daimler confirmed Sept. 19.
Gerd tom Markotten was CEO of moovel Group, which is changing its name to REACH NOW, according to its website. The venture is part of an alliance between the two German automakers as they expand their car-sharing, ride-hailing and electric-car charging offerings.
"She has made an enormous contribution to moovel, and to the development of [another Daimler-BMW joint venture] YOUR NOW at the same time," Michael Kuhn, Daimler's senior manager of mobility and strategy communications said in an email to S&P Global Market Intelligence. "We are very grateful to her as a Mobility-as-a-Service pioneer and regret that she left the company at her own request."
Gerd tom Markotten believed the investment level in the business was insufficient, Reuters reported, citing German business publication Manager Magazin.
