Unidentified gunmen killed Jacob Juma, the head ofPacific Wildcat ResourcesCorp.'s Cortec MiningKenya Ltd. unit, in Nairobi on May 5, Bloomberg News reported May 6.
Juma was shot while he was driving along a secluded sectionof a highway in the city, the report cited police spokesman Charles Owino assaying.
In June 2015, Pacific Wildcat, its U.K. subsidiariesCortec Pty. Ltd. andStirling CapitalLtd., and Cortec Mining Kenya filed for international arbitration against Kenya forthe government's cancellation of the companies' mining licenses for theMrima Hillproject.
The cancellation of the license occurred a week afterPacific Wildcat announced in July 2013 an inaugural rare earth and updatedniobium resource for Mrima Hill.
