Fed issues technical clarification on identification of G-SIBs

The Federal Reserve Board on Dec. 9 issued clarifications on its rule that identifies global systemically important bank holding companies, or G-SIBs.

After technical amendments were approved, the clarified rule states that G-SIBs should continue to calculate their surcharges using year-end data, while reporting the underlying data on a quarterly basis and scale the values of their surcharge scores to billions of dollars when computing.
