IRIDEX Corp., an ophthalmic medical technology company, appointed Robert Grove as a board member of the company.

Concurrently, Ann Rhoads resigned as a director to make room for the appointment, while she focuses on her new role as CFO of Forty Seven Inc.

Grove most recently served as the executive chairman of ON Light Sciences Inc., a startup that manufactures transparent gel patches for accelerated tattoo removal. ON Light was acquired by Merz North America Inc. in 2016.

Mountain View, Calif.-based IRIDEX, a healthcare equipment company, provides therapeutic based laser systems, delivery devices and consumable instrumentation to treat sight-threatening eye diseases in ophthalmology.
