Marriott shareholders reject simple-majority voting standard proposal

As recommended by its board, 'sshareholders rejected a shareholder resolutionproposing that a simple-majority voting standard be applied throughout thecompany's governance documents.

The proposal was voted down at Marriott's 2016 annualshareholders meeting May 6.

As previously reported, the board is of the opinion that theproposal is not likely to enhance shareholder value and is therefore not in thebest interests of Marriott or its shareholders.

The proposal was put forward by Myra Young.
