Ky. utility awards 120,000-ton contract to Bowie Refined Coal

has awarded a 120,000-ton coal supply contract to Bowie Resources LLC affiliate Bowie Refined Coal LLC, according to documents recently providedto the Kentucky Public Service Commission.

BowieRefined will provide the Spurlock Power Station with roughly 20,000 tons of coalper month under the contract term of March 17 through Aug. 31. The coal is beingsourced from BRC Greenfuels LLC mine in Estill County, Ky.

The coalis spec'd at a minimum 11,800 Btu/lb. and shall not contain more than 10% moisture,nor 12% ash "as received." The coal is to be loaded at the Riverway Dock,Big Sandy River milepost 7.2 or KCT Dock, Big Sandy River milepost 7.5 and deliveredto the Spurlock station.

The coalis priced at 214.88 cents/MMBtu, subject to certain quality adjustments.
