Helvetia names head of Swiss nonlife, chief technology officer

Helvetia Holding AG named Adrian Kollegger to head its Swiss nonlife insurance business and Achim Baumstark to serve as chief technology officer.

Kollegger will join Helvetia on April 1, 2017, from Zurich Insurance Group Ltd., where he was most recently responsible for the Swiss corporate customers business. Baumstark will join in the second quarter of 2017 from Helsana AG, where he is chief information officer and a member of the executive board.

Both Kollegger and Baumstark will join Helvetia's executive management.

The company also said it will nominate Ivo Furrer to its board of directors, subject to approval at the April 28, 2017, shareholder meeting. Furrer is CEO of the Swiss business at Swiss Life Holding Ltd.

Helsana said a successor for Baumstark will be announced at a later date.
