Investor AB said its normalized net income for the third quarter amounted to a loss of 18.74 Swedish kronor per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 2.07 kronor per share.
The per-share result swung to a loss from the prior-year profit of 11.56 kronor.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 14.28 billion kronor, compared with income of 8.82 billion kronor in the year-earlier period.
Total operating expenses increased 15.0% on an annual basis to 5.46 billion kronor from 4.75 billion kronor.
Reported net income totaled a loss of 22.82 billion kronor, or a loss of 29.96 kronor per share, compared with income of 13.98 billion kronor, or 18.32 kronor per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Oct. 23, US$1 was equivalent to 8.49 Swedish kronor.
