Morgan Stanley promoted Eli Gross and Simon Smith to oversee its global investment banking division, Bloomberg News reported July 11, citing an internal memo.
Smith, who joined the bank in 1998, has overseen its European banking franchise since 2015. Gross has been at the bank for 24 years and previously headed up the transportation and infrastructure banking practice.
Gross and Smith will replace Susie Huang and Mark Eichorn, who will become executive chairs of the company's new group comprising senior bankers driving M&A activity, Bloomberg reported. Both Huan and Eichorn were on the company's operating committee.
