In his more recent work, Gareth has been managing and working
on projects that help clients answer key strategic questions around
port, company, and ship and movement data. The Bespoke Data
Analysis product answers questions involving port congestion, ECA
analysis, slow steaming trends, competitor analysis, market sizing
and much more. In 2013, Gareth commenced work to reevaluate means
for calculating 'Country of Economic Benefit' and rewrite the
algorithm that supports this field.Gareth has worked at S&P Global(now part of S&P Global)
for over 11 years and has great knowledge in the rich data sets
across the Maritime portfolios also on analysing, combining,
blending and cleaning the data. His extensive knowledge with using
the data means he works very closely with clients on all manner of
tasks from raw data, data aggregations, data tables and structure,
new calculated fields, formulas and also full analytical
solutions.Gareth also creates dashboards for final files; allowing users
to interogate the data easier and much more efficiently through an
interactive tool.
Mr. Devereese started working at S&P Global in February 2020 as
the Maritime Risk and Compliance Product Management Director tasked
with developing S&P Global's Maritime Solutions including the
Maritime Intelligence Risk Suite (MIRS) and Maritime Portal. Mr.
Devereese is an ex Royal Naval Officer. He joined the Royal Navy in
2007 and after passing out of Britannia Royal Navy College he
served as a Warfare Officer in a number of hull types including
Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers, Frigates & Minehunters in global
waterways. He conducted tours in the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Gulfs
of Oman and Aden conducting anti-piracy and maritime interdiction
operations as well as serving in the Fishery Protection Squadron in
UK waters and trained as a Mine Warfare Officer. He also served as
Officer in Command Rear Party Afghanistan for OP HERRICK 15 and
Battle Watch Officer for Combined Maritime Force in Bahrain. He
transferred to the Reserve List in 2013 where he served with the
United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations until 2015. He has
subsequently been granted Associate Fellowship of the Royal
Institute of Navigation and the Freedom of the City of London and
is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights. Since
leaving the Royal Navy he has continued to work in the maritime
sector, both for commercial liners as Deputy Designated Person
Ashore / Company Security Officer focusing on internal safety and
security inspection of the Fleet and latterly in the Lloyds and
London Maritime Insurance Markets as a claims handler and then in
the P&I market as Senior Loss Prevention Executive for an
International Group Club.
Jeremy works within the Industry Solutions team. A highly
specialised unit with deep understanding of the divisions data
assets and solutions, industry and use cases as to be able to
partner with executives and businesses of all sizes around the
world to identify growth opportunities, reduce global supply chain
risk, assess markets, as well as assisting in providing
transparency in the Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) space, as well
as risk & compliance within shipping.He adds particular expertise in the area of maritime risk and
compliance, whereby his analysis of deceptive shipping practises
and illicit trading have helped to identify high risk assets and
related entities. He has been featured in several webinars, reports
and podcasts which vary in theme, but include topics such as
Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing, Sanctions
evasion, and the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as well as
writing several blog articles. Jeremy has six years of experience
in the industry with a history of client support.He holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Hazards &
Disaster Management, graduating from Kingston University, London
and is fluent in French.
