Global equities short interest increased by 37bps over the month. Real estate, consumer services, commercial services and transport were the most shorted sectors.
Across North America short interest increased by 8bps over the month. The largest increases in short interest were seen across the energy, banking and retail sectors.
Short interest across the APAC region increased by 171bps. Short interest increased across the auto and semi conductor sectors.
Across EMEA, short interest increased by 20bps. The most significant increases were seen across the real estate and utilities sectors.
