IHS Markit is delighted to announce that Jennifer Theiss, VP, Global Head of Financial Services Solutions Sales, and Saori Fotenos, Executive Director, Product Management for our EDM solution, were recognized at the 2021 WatersTechnology Women in Technology & Data Awards, presented on March 5.
The annual awards recognize, promote and celebrate the outstanding work and achievements of women in technology and data roles across the capital markets, a sector where women remain underrepresented.
Jennifer Theiss took home the award for Vendor Professional of the Year, which recognizes women from the third-party technology vendor community who have shown innovation and outstanding service to their firm's capital markets clients.
Theiss is responsible for a global sales team of 75 and hundreds of millions of revenue across multiple customer segments and business lines. She recently led the restructuring of the Solutions sales team; an effort that supports a more effective and customer-centric go-to-market strategy. Theiss also participates in a mentoring program and is a leader on both the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and the Graduate and Intern program, where she hosts sessions on female empowerment, personal branding and career.
Saori Fotenos won the EDM Professional of the Year (newcomer) award, which is presented to women who work with and address data management issues across their organization and deliver value and change across the business.
Fotenos is part of the global product management leadership group for our Enterprise Data Management solution and leads the North American product team. Since joining the company last year, she has made an impact by automating a range of internal processes, so that product releases now run on a six-week cycle. She has also led the development of IHS Markit's Data Dictionary and is the accessibility lead for EDM, spearheading efforts to help IHS Markit clients support global web accessibility guidelines.
"At IHS Markit, we believe that diversity and inclusion are the foundations that shape and define our business," said Andrew Eisen, Head of Financial Services Solutions. "Saori and Jennifer have made a tremendous impact, both to our business operations and within several key internal initiatives. We have long recognized the value they bring to our organization and are thrilled to see them honored alongside many outstanding women in the data and technology industry."
