The SNL Eastern European Bank index was the only regional bank index that delivered a positive return during the first quarter of 2018, recording a rise of 3.2%, according to data compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence.
The SNL U.K. & Ireland Bank index was the weakest performer of the quarter, delivering a negative return of 7.2%, followed by the SNL Nordic Bank index, which has been in the red since early February and ended the quarter with a negative return of 6.2%.
