For Q1 2025, Australia recorded 187 M&A transactions with a total transaction value of US$11.7 billion. Compared to Q1 2024, there was an 18.7% decrease in the number of M&A deals and a 23.4% decrease in total transaction value. While comparing YTD 2025 and YTD 2024, outbound markets experienced the most significant decline in aggregate transaction value, dropping by 73.9%. Domestic markets followed with a decline of 21.5%, while inbound markets decreased by 9.4%. In 2025, the Real Estate and Financials sectors showed a notable increase in the inbound market.
