The Beneficial Owner Data Dashboard Q3 2026
Record lending revenues. A changing mix of opportunities.
Beneficial owners generated a record $4.43 billion in securities lending revenues during Q3, highlighting lending’s contribution to portfolio income. However, results varied across regions, asset classes and individual securities, making market context essential when assessing programme performance.
S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Q3 2026 Beneficial Owner Data Dashboard examines these differences, bringing together revenue data, leading revenue-generating securities and expert commentary to help asset owners understand the activity shaping lending returns.
Key highlights
- Equities contributed $3.14 billion, with Asian equities generating $1.32 billion, ahead of the Americas’ $1.11 billion and Europe’s $310 million.
- AI-related borrowing and stock-specific demand shaped equity opportunities. Quanta Computer and Wiwynn generated a combined $55.03 million, while Pop Mart delivered $144.32 million, demonstrating that significant revenues extended beyond technology.
- Bonds added $1.28 billion, including $900 million from government bonds and $370 million from corporate bonds, as inflation concerns and changing interest-rate expectations supported hedging and relative-value activity.
- Revenue growth did not depend on higher fees alone. Broader market revenues rose 20% to $5.35 billion despite a 9% decline in average fees, reinforcing the importance of assessing borrower demand, portfolio composition and lending rates together.
