Local agricultural lenders AgChoice Farm Credit ACA from Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Westminster, Md.-based MidAtlantic Farm Credit ACA completed their merger July 1 to form Horizon Farm Credit.
Members of both associations in May voted in favor of the merger, which has received final regulatory approval from the Farm Credit Administration, according to a news release.
Former MidAtlantic Farm Credit CEO Tom Truitt is now CEO of Horizon Farm Credit, while AgChoice Farm Credit's director and trustee Shawn Wolfinger is the combined entity's board chairman.
The merged entity is based in Mechanicsburg, Pa., with 25 offices across its five-state footprint. It serves 100 counties in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, with more than 20,000 member-borrowers, according to the release.
No staffing changes and office closures will occur as a result of the merger, except for July 1 to July 4 to allow systems integration, the release said.
