Veolia Environnement SA now owns 86.22%, or 551,451,261 shares of Suez SA, as a result of the cash tender offer launched by Veolia to takeover Suez.
Veolia will ask to reopen the offer from Jan. 12 to Jan. 27, to allow the remaining shareholders to tender their shares under unchanged conditions, in accordance with the French Autorité des marchés financiers' regulations.
The company also plans to delist Suez shares if the number of shares not tendered to the offer is 10% or below of the capital and voting rights of Suez.
In May 2021, the two French waste and water utilities signed a combination agreement confirming the terms of the merger they agreed to in April 2021, following approval by their respective boards of directors.
