Trinidad and Tobago-based Ansa Merchant Bank Ltd. has acquired the operations of Bank of Baroda (Trinidad & Tobago) Ltd., from India's Bank of Baroda effective March 1.
Bank of Baroda first agreed to sell the unit back in December 2019 as part of the rationalization of the Indian bank's international operations. The Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago approved the transaction in December 2020.
Bank of Baroda (Trinidad & Tobago) Ltd. will continue to operate under the same name for one month.
Ansa Merchant Bank Director David Dulal-Whiteway will serve as the new chairman of Bank of Baroda (Trinidad & Tobago) Ltd., while Robert Le Hunte will be the new managing director.
