BNP Paribas names 2 COOs as part of strategic plan

France-based BNP Paribas SA appointed deputy COOs Yann Gérardin and Thierry Laborde as COOs.

Gerardin and Laborde will take over the role from Philippe Bordenave, who will become a senior executive adviser to general management and the chair of bank's board.

The lender's deputy COOs Jacques d'Estais and Michel Konczaty are stepping down from the position. D'Estais will leave the lender to pursue personal projects at the end of 2021 while Konczaty will become an executive adviser to general management at the lender.

Renaud Dumora and Laurent David were appointed deputy COOs.

Alain Papiasse and Thierry Varène were appointed executive advisors to general management.

Additionally, the lender appointed Charlotte Dennery CEO of BNP Paribas Personal Finance SA; Elena Goitini CEO of BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas; and Pauline Leclerc-Glorieux CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif. Dennery, Goitini and Leclerc-Glorieux were also appointed to the company's group executive committee.

The company said the appointments take the proportion of women on the executive board to one third. It pledged to raise this proportion to at least 40% by 2025.

The appointments are a part of the company's 2022-2025 strategic plan.

All the appointments will be effective the day after the company's annual general meeting, scheduled to be held on May 18.
