Vedanta changes mission statement, targets net-zero emissions by 2050

Vedanta Ltd. changed its mission statement to align with its environmental, social and governance goals, which include commitments of reducing carbon emission intensity by 25% by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, the company said Nov. 25.

The new mission statement Transforming for Good — will be backed by three pillars that will focus on community welfare, workplace dynamics and environmental responsibility.

The company also pledged to spend $5 billion over the next 10 years to accelerate its net-zero goals.
