State Farm closes GAINSCO deal

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. has completed the acquisition of nonstandard auto insurer GAINSCO Inc. for about $400 million.

The transaction closed on Dec. 31, 2020.

In the future, the companies expect to provide State Farm independent contractor agents an opportunity to market, solicit and service GAINSCO products.
