South Korea's Financial Services Commission granted preliminary MyData business licenses to seven companies, including Viva Republica Co Ltd. and Standard Chartered Korea Ltd.
The regulator also gave preliminary MyData business licenses to Minwise Co. Ltd., COOCON Corp., Habit Factory, Fintech Inc. and SK Planet Co. Ltd. Meanwhile, Kakao Pay Corp.'s application review is still ongoing, according to a Jan. 13 release.
The results of final license approvals will be announced in late January.
In December 2020, the financial regulator granted preliminary MyData business licenses to 21 companies out of 35 applicants.
In a separate release, the regulator said it granted Netherlands-based IMC Trading BV a preliminary financial investment business license. The company is required to apply for the final approval within six months.
