GE hits Siemens Gamesa with UK patent infringement lawsuit – ReNews

General Electric Co. has hit Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA with another patent infringement lawsuit, ReNews reported Jan. 25.

The case, filed in the High Court of Justice in England and Wales, involves the U.K. part of a specific GE patent and certain offshore wind turbines, according to the report.

Siemens Gamesa indicated that it will defend the case, ReNews said. In October 2020, the Spanish-German wind-turbine maker sued GE over patented turbine technologies. The lawsuit follows GE's request for the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate its rival for importing and selling patented wind turbine components.
