• Politics and policies will continue to provide disruptions to existing operations and reward flexibility. The US tariff environment is becoming clearer, but the renegotiation of the USMCA trade deal is likely to take much of the remainder of 2026 to be completed. The implementation and adaptation of new regulations by the EU will complicate sourcing decisions into early 2027.
• Logistics networks have so far adapted to challenges from conflict in the Middle East, though recovery will take until early 2027 to be fully completed. At the same time, long-expected increases in shipping capacity are arriving – we’ll provide context in our expectations for global trade volumes, shipping rates and industry regulations.
• Nearly two years of uncertainties over the policy and network landscape and disruptions to electronics supply chains have resulted in decision-makers pausing their investments in resilience.
