Private Companies Environmental Data

We are launching a new Private Company Environmental Data (PCD) package.  As part of this first release of PCD coverage, we will cover 5k companies from our CIQ PCD universe that represent private companies with public debt.  Coverage will expand to 2M companies by year end.  Leveraging the same imputation expertise, we have extended the Trucost environmental model to provide damage costs attributed to GHGs, Land/Water/Air Pollutants, Waste, Water, and Natural Resource Use.

Trucost Environmental data includes over 15,000+ public company records, 175+ environmental data points including carbon, water, waste, pollution, and energy mix, with many dating back to 2005.

Trucost Carbon Earnings at Risk

Trucost's Carbon Earnings at Risk data enables you to assesses company-level exposure to current and future carbon pricing scenarios. Integral to this analysis is the calculation of the Unpriced Carbon Cost, which is defined as the difference between what a company pays for carbon today and what it may pay at a given future date based on its sector, operations, and under different climate change scenarios.

This dataset can be used to stress test a company's current ability to absorb future carbon prices and understand potential earnings at risk from carbon pricing on a portfolio level and report to stakeholders on forward-looking estimates of financial risks in line with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

The Trucost Carbon Earnings at Risk enables users to assess company-level exposure to current and future carbon pricing scenarios and understand potential earnings at risk by using scenario analysis*.

Physical risk asset level scores

Trucost's Physical Risk dataset assesses company exposure to seven climate-related hazards (sea-level rise, flooding, heatwaves, coldwaves, drought, hurricanes, and wildfires) under low, medium and high climate change scenarios based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP).

The dataset includes coverage of over >2.7 million assets mapped to >15,000 listed companies, with risk metrics provided from a 2020 baseline to 2030 and 2050.

Company and asset level scores have been updated for 2020. We also added coverage of asset level data and future scenario projections for river flood and sea-level rise.
