Tanzania Cigarette H2 profit climbs YOY

4910295 said its normalized net income for the second half amounted to 297.30 Tanzanian shillings per share, a gain from 284.76 shillings per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 29.75 billion shillings, a gain from 28.46 billion shillings in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 6.8% on an annual basis to 154.19 billion shillings from 144.36 billion shillings, and total operating expenses rose 6.3% from the prior-year period to 107.20 billion shillings from 100.89 billion shillings.

Reported net income fell from the prior-year period to 31.93 billion shillings, or 319.12 shillings per share, from 33.28 billion shillings, or 332.99 shillings per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 636.89 shillings per share, an increase of 5.3% from 605.07 shillings per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 63.69 billion shillings, a gain of 5.3% from 60.51 billion shillings in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew 5.9% year over year to 300.55 billion shillings from 283.91 billion shillings, and total operating expenses increased year over year to 196.92 billion shillings from 189.16 billion shillings.

The company said reported net income fell on an annual basis to 65.71 billion shillings, or 657.11 shillings per share, in the full year, from 68.60 billion shillings, or 686.00 shillings per share.
