GoldenPredator Mining Corp. said July 13 that it has started a1,600-meter engineering and metallurgical drilling program at its gold-silverproperty in Canada's Yukon Territory.
The drilling focuses on the Golden, Lucky and Kokanee pitswhich were previously mined in the 1990s. Historic data shows that significantoxide gold mineralization remains unmined at the pits.
Testing is designed to confirm in-situ gold grades andexpected recoveries for the designed heap leach process in the preliminaryeconomic assessment.
An additional 11 holes will be drilled around the pits tore-establish ground water monitor wells and to obtain additional geotechnicalinformation for the final new pit designs and permit requirements.
The company will update and complete the mine design forpermit submission once drilling is completed and results have been received.
