Japan reported a current account surplus of ¥3.122 trillion in March after reporting a ¥2.076 trillion surplus in February, preliminary data from the Ministry of Finance showed.
Exports rose 3.7% to ¥7.448 trillion in March following the prior month's 0.9% rise. Imports edged down 0.9% to ¥6.257 trillion, after February's 17.8% increase, government data showed.
The country's trade in goods recorded a 37.6% increase to a ¥1.191 trillion surplus in March, after an 82.5% decrease to ¥188.70 billion in February.
As of May 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥109.74.
